Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhullier was born in the Philippines in 1971. The daughter of a successful businessman and a sophistaced model and successful designer of children’s clothing, Monique Lhullier grew up surrounded by fashion and good taste. When she was 11 years old, the future designer was already sketching designs, choosing fabrics, and personlizing dresses with the couturier of her mother’s haute couture house.
Her younger years were spent in a boarding school in Switzerland and when once graduated, she continued her studies in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. It was here, in the FIDM where she met her husband, Tom Bugbee, with whom she married in 1995. In the process of planning  her own wedding, Monique Lhullier discovered that there was a lack of wedding dresses for sophisticated women that demand more modern silhouettes and designs which are at the forefront of fashion.
In 1996, she created her first bridal collection which caused true sensation. In the year after that, her husband joined the company as CEO and together they positioned Monique Lhullier Haute Couture as one of the most recognized and prosperous globally. Today, she is one of the most well known designers, dressing celebrities like Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, as well as personalities from US politics such as the First Lady, Michelle Obama.
Monique and Tom live in Los Angeles, California, with their 2 children, Jack and Sophia. Monique’s career in fashion is growing due to her great dedication to her family and philanthropic work.
